Location: Projects based across Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Ipswich, and Norwich

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and reliable Site Agent / Assistant Site Manager to join a long-established main contractor delivering a broad portfolio of high-quality construction projects across East Anglia. With a strong pipeline of secured work across public and private sectors, this is a permanent position offering stability, variety, and genuine career progression.

Key Project Types:
The role will involve working on a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes including:

  • Educational facilities (schools, academies, colleges)

  • Healthcare and community buildings

  • Local authority and council frameworks

  • Commercial and industrial units

  • Heritage restorations and specialist works

  • Residential schemes and small-scale housing developments

All projects are local to the region — no long-distance travel or overnight stays required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day management of construction sites ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant, and materials on site

  • Work closely with site and project managers to keep progress on track

  • Monitor and maintain site records, reports, and compliance documentation

  • Uphold strong standards of health & safety, environmental responsibility, and workmanship

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clear communication

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a similar Site Agent or Assistant Site Manager role on general building projects

  • Good technical understanding of new build and refurbishment processes

  • Confident reading and interpreting drawings and specifications

  • SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certification required

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
