Marshall Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced Multi-Skilled M&E Engineer to take responsibility for the mechanical and electrical services across a prestigious five-building estate in Fulbourn, Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building services engineer looking to step into a role with greater responsibility, overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of a diverse portfolio while leading two on-site handymen.

The Role

As the lead Multi-Skilled M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of all M&E services across the estate.

The site comprises five buildings, including:

  • Three recently refurbished buildings with brand-new plant equipment that remains under warranty.
  • One modern building approximately 14 years old.
  • Victoria House, a listed building with older but straightforward building services plant.

You will oversee the maintenance strategy, ensure statutory compliance, coordinate specialist contractors where required, and provide technical leadership to two site handymen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Manage the mechanical and electrical services across all five buildings.
  • Supervise and support two on-site handymen.
  • Coordinate specialist contractors and warranty providers.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across a variety of M&E systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience working within commercial building services or facilities management.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
  • Multi-skilled background with fault-finding experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workloads and support on-site staff.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) are advantageous.

  • £45,000 salary
